When Kaida had started talking, Ryo was pretty sure that she wasn't going to give up any answers. Well, oh well, that was her business, and she could keep it that way if she wanted to. However, as she went on, Ryo seemed to note what she actually did for a living and found it rather amusing to say the least. He seemed to take in each answer as it came and took it just the same.
Well now, that was something he didn't quite expect. However, he was rather good about hiding this sort of surprise and kept more of a serious face rather than anything else. Slowly nodding a bit as she ended it, he simply bit on the end of the fork for a moment and debated what exactly he wanted to say next.
"M," he began. "Interesting," he finally ended with before taking up another sweet and chewing it before continuing. "That's not a bad job at all." He half laughed at this and found a steady smirk on his face. He didn't seem at all fazed by this information and was rather calm with even the oddest nature of it.

She wasn't really working for him too, more like volunteering. She wasn't payed to teach with him, maybe she would get a slight boost on the money she would get once a week. It wasn't really an allowance, since her father still gave it to her the morning of the saturday in an envelope even if she didn't do any work that past week. He believed that it was her right to have some money, since she didn't get to talk to her only parent, and she didn't often buy things. He hoped she would save the money up to get something she really wants badly. Some dishes of food were ready for the customers to have dropped off to them, and Kaida stood to bring the people who ordered them the things they had ordered. No matter how many times she stood up though, she would find herself sitting across from Ryo once again, waiting for things to be cleaned or orders to be filled. [/ul][/blockquote]

"Me and my father never talk, even though we are coworkers and relatives" A rather said half smirk came onto the face of Ryo as he continued to eat and think about how to actually answer that. He didn't talk to either of his parents and didn't really consider them family any more for what they did anyways, so, in truth, he somewhat understood this concept of not talking. However, he also talked a bit to Haii and Saiyo which led to the question as to whether or not Kaida had any siblings. For one reason or another, Ryo doubted this.
However, after a moment, he found the reason why. She had said 'my father and I' meaning more or less it was simply the two of them at least in Ryo's interpretation. Deciding to leave the subject of siblings and her possible mother alone, Ryo continued to think for a bit. However, in another few seconds, Kaida had gotten back up and started to work again. Deciding to eat and think this over for a bit, Ryo went back to thought.
When she had come back again, he looked up and thought for a moment. "Why not?" he finally asked not carrying that it might or might not have been an intrusion into personal space. Kaida had started it anyways, at least this was the way Ryo was taking it to be.

Kaida responded "and I guess he's angry that I didn't see what her killer looked like..." she was now speaking quietly, as she was in a different time in a day dream while speaking. She woke up when Haru banged into her knee while skipping by, before skipping away after apologizing. "I guess because he loved her so much that he can't stand the sight of me" she added a little louder now and smiled to him.[/ul][/blockquote]

Ryo was dead silent as Kaid had answered his question. For a moment, he couldn't decide which side to pick on such ta thing. It was... well... it sucked for them both. Yes that was what he finally decided on. After a moment, he let a half breath out but didn't make any sort of condolences like most would.
In truth, he'd had friends that were killed and friends whose parents were killed, and death wasn't something that he'd openly address to some cafe worker out of the blue. No, that'd bring up a bit too much other detail that he was trying to leave behind at the moment.
"Ah," he finally answered back taking the last bite and chewing before continuing on. "At least you have him though," he finished thinking of his own parents. How he hated them both..... He'd never let either of them close to Haii or Saiyo ever again if he could help it. No... not help it. Simply do it and go on.
He no longer considered himself to have parents and would prefer to think them both dead rather than alive. It made for a better story, yet who would he even tell it to in this day and age? Saiyo was old enough to have remembered what happened, and lying to Haiiro was like lying to a mirror.

it would have been bad for her to lose him at the age she was at the time of her mother's murder. Sure her mother was a little weaker than her father, but they were both very good fighters. Her mother was also good at playing instruments of any kind, and Kaida had gotten this gene from her as well. Her and her mother were both very good at music, though her mother had played all different types of styles, Kaida was more into classical than anything, unless singing or drums. "What about your parents, Ryo?" she asked, again, in the back of her mind she didn't want him to answer unless it was alright with him. She had decided not to say anything this time, because she was sure that he wouldn't say anything if he didn't want to, and that he got the point that she had made. She doesn't mind if answers were not given if they were too personal or anything, but if they were meant to be scientific, then she would get angry if they were not given. Though she wouldn't let her anger make her violent, as she was not taught to be violent, just defensive. Her father had taught her most of what she knew when her mother was still alive, in terms of how to act. He had taught her to not intrude if unwanted, to use her manners, and to only use her strength when she had no other means of persuasion. Of course, her strength was also not to be used when uneeded, or for silly reasons. The earlier was not a silly reason, but she did believe she could have done something else to stop the boy. She just reacted too early compared to her thoughts. [/ul][/blockquote]

Ryo should have expected that. Mentally smacking himself, he decided to go with what was already on his mind at that point in time. "They're gone," he answered back looking rather flatly at her for a moment before shaking his head dryly and thinking that the context was vague enough to leave it open for interpretation.
In truth, Ryo was all too sure that his father was out there somewhere partying his drunken ass off while his mother was doing whatever she did.....That bloody messy house.... that he'd fled with his siblings....Then what ended up tying him down being the gangs and the fighting and......Ryo found himself frowning at the thought, and in another moment, he sighed outwards dryly and forced a calmer look onto his face that was neither a smile nor a frown.
"Though it doesn't matter much since I can take care of myself," he finished rather coolly in that moment.

she responded calmly, opening her eyes once again to watch Ayame. "I'm also sorry for taking up your time" She apologised again. She had found that some people often stayed because they would feel guilty for leaving "Please do not hesitate to leave if you want to" she added before standing up again, tucking back her hair, to take a few more plates to customers and pick up the dirty ones on her way back to slide them on the ledge behind the counter, but of course she came back to sit down in her spot she had chosen, across from Ryo. Being a waitress, a busperson, and a maid all at once was difficult for most people in the present day that were around Kaida's age. Most girls had become lazy around this time, because instead of trying to make their parents proud, they just wanted to get everything using their money, and they believed that that's what ill be the whole of their life. Living off of their parents. Kaida was not a lazy girl though, as she balanced her schooling, the dojo, and her job at the cafe well. She just didn't have a well balanced social life, as it had been put aside. [/ul][/blockquote]

Ryo blinked when Kaida said sorry. However, he simply put all the previous thoughts away in the back of his mind again. "Don't be," he finally answered back as she came back and sat down again. He'd come to the end of everything he had ordered and found that his sweet tooth was more than satisfied. However, he didn't really have to get back home too soon and therefore resolved just to sit there for now and continue chatting with the rather friendly waitress.
"I'm cool with sitting here for a bit if that's cool with you," he answered back when the comment about leaving came. He usually wasn't one to wait around, yet it didn't seem too bad at this point. There wasn't much homework to do anyways, and Haii was probably not home. Saiyo was probably out with her friends or something of the like, so he'd simply come home to an empty apartment anyways.
"So I'm guessing you like martial arts then?" he asked changing the subject for a moment.

Kaida responded, turning a little so she was facing the table. She put her elbows on the table and rested her head on her closed fists, tilted slightly with her dark purple eyes resting on Ryo. Kaida smiled to him "I'm sure the cafe will calm down a little after this bunch has left" that was what usually happened. Kaida didn't work during the night time, as she went home, and that was when the customers started coming back in. Older, and some much more perverted than others. Kaida was secretly glad she didn't have to come work later. Kaida nodded to his question "both my mother and my father both had a love for it" she said "It isn't that uncommon that I have that love for it too" Kaida didn't quite enjoy violence, but martial arts was different. It wasn't very violent, it was a means to protect yourself from others. She also gained a bit more love for it since it was one of the only times her father would actually talk to her. Giving her intructions through his voice was just enough to make her smile, but that usually upset her father, and he grew quiet once again. Her looks were exactly like her mothers, but the way she acted was more like the way her father acted. Genes worked in strange ways sometimes. Kaida began stacking up Ryo's dirty dishes as she was sitting. She would much rather be doing something productive while sitting there and not just sitting there during her paying job. She stood up and carried a large amount of the dirty dishes to the ledge before coming back again, resting her elbows on the table once more. [/ul][/blockquote]

"Ah," was the answer that Ryo came out with as Kaida walked away with the dishes again. Breathing outwards, he reached into his pocket and began to file through the money he had on him to pay the bill. Yep, a little more than just enough to pay for it all. Well, that was both good and bad though at that point, Ryo was simply focusing in on the good in order to compensate for the bad. After a moment, he set the money on the table and leaned back in his chair again thinking about the martial arts.
He'd never been formally trained in anything of the sort but had been in more gang fights than he was happy to admit. The cut scar on the side of his face was proof of things he wasn't too pleased to admit now that he'd finally broken away from it all. Therefore he resolved to patch it up with a bandage and hide it as though it were simply an injury of some sort that would probably heal in time. In truth, he doubted that it'd ever go away.
Deciding what to say next when she had come back again, Ryo found his face looking a bit colder for a second. "So is that what you plan to do after graduation?" he asked. Well this was certainly turning into a more lively conversation than he had previously had with others. In truth, he didn't usually talk much unless there was a strict reason to. However, the sweets had relaxed him and put him in a rather good mood to say the least of it.
If it came down to it, he'd be willing to give a bit of his story if she asked for it. However, how much of it would be solid truth was still up to debate for most. He wasn't nearly as bad a liar as he put on sometimes, yet other times...eh..

she responded. She actually had no idea what she would want to do after she graduated. Her father would pass away and leave her money and the dojo to use as she pleases, and she really had no idea what interested her. Music was a rather interesting subject, but she doubted she would be able to get a job as a musician of some sort. She liked solo acting, and the intruments she played were not solo material, though she always did solos when she practiced. Kaida went to get Ryo's change and put the money in the cash register that was also on the ledge behind the bar. She came back to finish what she was saying and hold the money out for Ryo to take, this time she decided to just stay standing and lean with her elbows on the table. "My father had plans to give me everything he has when he passes, but I don't know if I'll be going into something that has to do with music" she leaned on one foot. She gathered up the rest of the dishes he had used, putting them on the ledge before carrying some food to other customers, then coming back to lean on the table once again. She started doodling on the table with her finger, circles. It seemed that Kaida was fidgiting a little bit of a lot. [/ul][/blockquote]

Heh, well it seemed at least she had some form of inheritance then. It was better than what he had which was all Ryo thought on for the moment. However, when she stated that she might go into music instead, he blinked again a tad surprised but not showing it that much. Habit was habit after all. However, after a moment, when she came back again with his change, he stood up slowly and then took the money back form her before folding it back into his wallet and setting it in his back pocket once more.
Standing fully then, he put his hands in his pockets and looked towards the door for a moment debating whether or not to actually leave. However, there didn't seem to be much more he would do there aside form chat, and therefore, it seemed like an alright time to leave.
"Well," he stated aloud. "I'll be headed out, but....." he stopped for a moment in thought before looking at her almost sideways for a moment. "I'll come back every once in a while. The food here isn't bad, and the service doesn't seem that bad either." With that, he started towards the door rather slowly still.

Kaida said with a smile and went to the other side of the cafe, past Ryo, and get some dishes that a few customers had left after they had paid. It seemed they had left a tip, because the dishes were usually cleaned after the people had been given their change back. Or maybe they just made exactly the right amount of money to pay for what they ordered... didn't matter to Kaida. What needed cleaning got cleaned. Kaida only worked at the cafe for a small amount of time. Just two hours. She ended her job at around five, but sometimes she stayed a while to take care of things if the cafe was busy. Today, she was planning on heading straight home and seeing if she could catch her father for a lesson, unless he was too tired to give her one. The talk with Ryo made her want to speak with him again, and the only way to do that was to catch him while he was in the dojo and ask for a lesson. Kaida walked passed Ryo again but stopped next to him "Thanks for talking with me Ryo" she said to him before continuing what she was doing. Taking orders and acting like the bubbly waitress she was supposed to act like.[/ul][/blockquote]

Ryo gave one last nod towards the waitress, and with that, he started out of the cafe before walking up the street. His thoughts were somewhat calm at that moment, and his hands remained in his pockets. His sweet tooth which had been nagging him like the devil was finally coming to peace at that moment, thankfully. As he walked up the street and towards his house, he thought about going back to the cafe when he had more money to spend...heh.
