A rather soft laugh came from Haiiro at the answer. Indeed, the sweets.....Even Saiyo couldn't deny them, and it was a wonder that all three of them weren't diabetic or something of the like. However, after a moment more, Haii's face became somewhat somber again.
"I do," he answered back thinking back to the apartment where there was one actual bedroom, a kitchen, and a main room. Both brothers slept in the main room at night (when Haii actually got any sleep...) and Saiyo was lucky enough to get her own room (though both Ryo and Haiiro had been the ones to make this decision rather than have too much drama later).
Overall, it was rather small, yet they were able to keep it and maintain it well enough with the minimal income that the family took in.....Which brought back Haii's sudden twitch about Ryo. Mentally smacking himself for starting that again, he breathed out slowly for a moment. "One of the apartments around here...Ryo, me, and our younger sister all live together," he stated aloud rather surprised that he hadn't simply stated Saiyo instead of 'our younger sister'.
Then his mind seemed to retract, and he realized he'd probably said it because he was under the impression that because Kaida didn't know about him previously, she probably wouldn't know about Saiyo. It was a reasonable thought at least to Haiiro. Then again, he was questioning his own thoughts on the matter given that they were rather sporadic at best at the moment.
"Siblings?" he asked tiredly at her wondering if she had any other family members.

she responded, twirling a finger in her dark hair. It was the finger that she didn't have sticky, rainbow colouring on. She decided not to finish the sentence she was saying "Never mind." she was just about to say 'dojo' as that is what she usually called her house. Sure, the house itself was bigger than the dojo, and the garden surrounding it wasn't part of the dojo, but she still called it the dojo. It was much more easier than saying anything else, at least for her it was. Kaida sucked some more on the jawbreaker and wondered what would happen if she ate all of the fudge and jawbreakers in one sitting, along with the cotton candy. She already knew she would get a stomach ache, but would she get strangely hyper? Kaida never got insanely hyper before, or at least, she hasn't from what she remembered. That would probably never happen to her, unless she was very young again. "Younger sister?" Ryo didn't tell Kaida of his siblings while they were talking. There were three of them living together, but it seemed that only the three siblings were living together, and not their parents. Kaida was very glad to have a father like her own, and felt bad for those who did not have parents, or their parents were so horrible they couldn't stand staying with them any longer, or their parents were just horrible. Even if she and her father spoke to eachother, she doubted he would be horrible towards her. [/ul][/blockquote]

At the break in her answer, Haii found his eyes grow in question. However, his mind decided to leave it alone and simply allowed her to continue on to her own question for him without pressing it. It was simply conversation, yes? No need to make it difficult or pushy. After a moment, Haii found his eyes lower towards his watch again, and his eyes focused sharply on the minute hand.
Why he still had a non-digital clock was both obvious and truly up for debate. He often stated that it was because he preferred the watch, but in truth, it was something a tad more than that....It was... the watch that his father had had..... and before they made their rather extremely odd escape from the parents that had abused them, Haiiro had taken it. For a while, Ryo had scolded him on it, yet Haiiro remained ferm on his wants and seemed to keep to it no matter what.
Anyways, back to the present..... A few minutes had passed.... Ok, he still had time. For a moment, he felt like that rabbit from Alice in Wonderland who never had enough time. However, instead of running late, Haiiro planed to be right on time for everything. Looking back up and registering Kaida again, he nodded slowly at the question of his and Ryo's sister.
"Her name is Saiyoko, but we mostly call her Saiyo for short," he answered back looking towards Kaida carefully as though not sure how much information to really give on the situation. However, after a moment, he simply focused on his jawbreaker and seemed to mess with it in his mouth for a few seconds before continuing again. "She's a good two to three years younger than both Ryo and I depending when our birthdays overlap," he finished thinking of the silly young woman and half smirking.

she asked him a rather common question. This question was used often between people without siblings and people with them, and it didn't really mean much. Kaida's parents were going to have another, maybe two, more children. They were planning on it, at least. Kaida was old enough at the time to understand that much. They had asked her if she wanted a little brother or sister and she had answered with a yes. They told her that they would try to give her what she wanted, but her mother was killed soon after. Kaida still felt guilty about not being able to remember what the man looked like, or if he said anything... She didn't remember much of the man himself, she just remembered the blood and what had actually happened to her mother. "My parents were planning on having more kids" she said, looking down to her lap "But things happen, even if they're bad" she said and looked at the ceiling. She was letting her curiousity get the better of her eyes, and let them wander. She was examining the things that were above Haiiro's and her heads. She soon closed her eyes and chewed on the jaw breaker lightly once again. [/ul][/blockquote]

"Do you liked your siblings?" Well that was... a different type of question. Haii found himself thinking for a moment and then finally nodding slowly. "Yes..." he answered back. "We get along most of the time....and we've had to deal with each other a lot so, heh," he fiound a half smile coming onto his face. "However, I'm not sure what is going to happen when Ryo and I graduate....." he broke off a moment and shook his head falling into silence. Their job was to raise Saiyo....Even if that meant that he had to put his own dreams on hold for a while, Haii was alright with that.
"My parents were planning on having more kids....But things happen, even if they're bad" Haii all but instantly found himself assuming that someone had died.....Actually... she had just said her father and herself... so maybe her mother left the family? Either figuratively in the way of death or literally got up and left to the United States or somewhere father away, it was all up to speculation. Haii was quiet for a few seconds.
"Ah," he finally answered after a moment. "I understand...." Though he couldn't quite fit himself into whatever situation she was in to anything he was or had been in, Haii already understood when things didn't go as planned. Things happened... people just had to deal and go on.
"I'd.... be a tad scared if more kids came into the world under my father...." he stated aloud wondering why in the world he was saying this to a complete stranger. In truth, it might have actually been part of the reason that it was so easy.... She didn't understand it all, and therefore it made things easier. "He.... " Haii broke off feeling a rush of hate run through him that all but silenced his words. "We left the house to get away from all that..." he finally stated shaking his head a bit slowly falling into silence.

Kaida responded, still with her eyes closed. From what he had said about being unsure about what will happen when he and his brother graduate, Kaida wondered if he didn't think his sister would be able to live for herself, at least at school. Kaida moved the jawbreaker against her tongue some more before talking again "My mom was killed, in case you were wondering" she wasn't that into telling the details of her murder, and as a witness of it she knew a lot, but she just didn't know the details of her killer. This made her feel guilty, almost guilty enough to make her lose her composure of being calm and strong. Most people would think any normal girl her age would cry if they were in her shoes, but Kaida rarely cried. She would not cry for who has been lost, though she did miss her, and she hated the fact that she couldn't name the criminal who killed her. Kaida opened her eyes after a bit and looked out the large glass window in front of them. They could see people walking around outside the store, the snow falling was clinging to their clothes and hair. It made almost everything look as if it were being swallowed by a cloud of white, stolen from eye sight. The things closer were not as swallowed, and the things further were barely visible. Kaida liked the snow, it was pretty. It made every one sparkle, and when it melted flowers bloomed. She liked it the best at her house, as the cars were never driven inside the gate. The snow stayed untouched and covered the area with white. Kaida thought snow was one of the prettiest things she had ever seen. She just hated the cold that came along with it. She would much rather snow while it was hot out, but that was impossible.[/ul][/blockquote]

Haiiro froze, unable to say anything right off when Kaida had stated that her mother had been killed. He'd assumed... but would rather have been proved wrong rather than right. After a moment, he simply nodded slowly at this as though unsure of what else to do or say at least in that moment of time. Finally, he simply answered back with an 'ah' and then leaned back in the chair feeling like a ton of bricks had just rained down from the ceiling. However.... the chair was.... rather comfortable.
No. He wouldn't sleep in the middle of a public place... He had work in... wait what time was it. His eyes looked down at his clock, and he mentally sighed. Plenty of time, it seemed. Mentally smacking himself for worrying, he found himself frowning deeply. "You get lonely alot," was the comment that came from Haiiro. It wasn't a question but more of an assertive comment. He didn't like reading into people but sometimes felt the need to make his own assumptions and go along with them to draw out conclusions. He was far from a mind-reader and instead preferred to simply allow himself to state what his own conclusion of facts led him to. Anyone would be lonely with no siblings and only one parent....Unless of course one had a close friend or two, and in truth, Haiiro wasn't taking this into account and knew it.
He sudden;t found himself tired again and decided to sit forwards rather than back and stared at Kaida. "Heh... I bet you and Saiyo would get along," he stated rather dryly for a moment before shaking his head a bit as though disproving his own stated thoughts.

she said, even though she noticed it wasn't a question "my father doesn't talk to me any more, after all" she added. Of course, anybody would get lonely if everybody was scared of you due to your last name, your mother was dead, and your father didn't talk to you. Anybody, even Kaida, who didn't mind being alone for many hours, would get lonely. "Why would your sister and I get along?" she asked him, tilting her head a little. She wasn't as young as she looks, but she didn't mind age differences when it came to having people around you. After all, she did befriend children much younger than she was at the beginner's classes at the dojo. Most people mistook Kaida for being 15, maybe even 14, because of how she looked. She acted much older than she was, but she looked much younger. She usually told people that she was actually 17, and they apologized many times for the mistake. She would just say she was used to it, and then they would stop. Kaida was actually slightly amused by them mistaking her age. [/ul][/blockquote]

He stopped a moment at the question and seemed to be quiet for a moment. "You both seem to bear a lot of things yet remain calm with it... though... Saiyo is a bit....." he half laughed again and fell silent as though cutting that thought away from himself. Indeed, Ryo, Haii, and Saiyo had taken a lot of things on themselves, yet Saiyo was the only one who always tried to appear fine....
Even when Haii was sure she wasn't or even when Ryo had the notion to point it out. Outside of the family, Saiyo seemed rather outgoing but goodhearted. Inside the family, she seemed to take on a quieter aspect about her. "Different," he settled on that word not really sure if that even made sense in the context. However, he didn't worry too much about that at that point in time, heh.
"Tell me... have you ever faked a smile just to please other people?" he asked not really expecting Kaida to answer something that sharply odd question. However, he had had the compulsion to say it whether it was because of fatigue or something more. Heh, was he seriously going into something philosophical? Well, he must have really been tired then....
Wait... what time was work? Haii found his blue eyes move downwards and stare at the watch for a few seconds before he looked up again and found his finger rubbing his temple methodically. His headache was disappearing, thankfully.

Kaida responded "I don't bear too many problems in life, and if others think I do and they worry, they shouldn't" honestly, Kaida wanted somebody to worry, but people seemed to worry about the strangest things sometimes. Kaida didn't believe she had a lot to bear, her life was just a little dramatic. That was all she thought it was, and she didn't even worry for herself. Kaida nodded to his question "For my jobs I have smiled a fake smile" she rarely actually smiled, but people didn't want to see an unhappy waitress, so she smiled there a lot. She never actually had a reason to smile there though, other than the cute girl who worked there named Haru. She sometimes made Kaida feel better about fake smiles. [/ul][/blockquote]

Haii didn't answer back when Kaida talked about not bearing things. It didn't seem to bother him one bit if she didn't think so. Instead of saying anything, he simply waited until she had continued onto answer his question. When she did so, he simply stayed quiet for a bit and drew it on his mind more or less.
"For my jobs I have smiled a fake smile" Hm... indeed. Sitting forwards rather slowly and causing the chair he was sitting in to creek a little as he did so, Haii took the two sides of his mouth and pushed both his cheeks into a strange smile of sorts despite the fact that the jawbreaker only seemed to distort one side of his face while he he did this. However, after a few seconds, he allowed his face to drop again and began chewing at the jawbreaker a bit.
"I do it sometimes," he finally commented back. "Mostly trying to keep up what needs to be kept up....Ryo doesn't feel that need most of the time but does tend to do other things...." he forced a half laugh from himself that was questionable as to whether it was intentional or not. After a moment, he shook his head a bit. "Sorry if I'm boring you or not making sense...." he commented aloud stifling a yawn that was coming up to him.

she said to his apology. She didn't find him boring, and he wasn't making much sense, but she understood him a little. "It's actually fun talking to you" Kaida didn't usually think talking to anybody was exactly 'fun' because of how some people acted, but Haiiro wasn't acting like those people were. Haiiro seemed slightly different than Ryo, which didn't surprise Kaida. It seemed Haiiro was a little less... how should I say this... not cold... but... close to it. Ryo gave Kaida the impression that he had a slightly cold heart, but that could be fixed with a little warming up. Haiiro seemed to be less cold, and had a better sense of humor, judging on the funny face he had just made. Kaida couldn't picture Ryo doing something like that. [/blockquote][/ul]

Haii half nodded at this and then seemed to lean back in the chair again. His arm raised up, and he stared at his watch now above him rather than below him. Thirty minutes had passed by already. Raising his eyebrow at the time, the dark haired man seemed to breathe out a bit. He still had some time, at least. Then it was to work, and hopefully after words to sleep.
"So what grade are you in?" he asked coming up out of the blue with yet another question. However, it was a rather dry question that couldn't really be left up to interpretation.
"I'm a senior this year in high school," he commented aloud giving his own information somewhat also as a template for what she might want to answer in case there was some odd miss-communication that had occurred during that time laps.
"I'm guessing you're either a freshman or a sophomore..." he continued on now staring at the ceiling rather than Kaida herself. It was rather boring to look at, yet there were a few details here and there. A mental image was coming to mind from the small tack-patterns on the ceiling, and Haiiro more or less memorized it for later......
Which oddly led back to a sudden need to draw that had come to Haiiro's mind. He liked drawing in his spare time (if there was such a thing now a days), and most of his pictures were of the skyline.... A ceiling image... might prove interesting, maybe.....heh.

she said to him. "I get mistaken for those ages a lot though, so don't worry about it" Kaida added, playing with the jawbreaker in her mouth, poking it with the tip of her tongue. Kaida also turned her head to look up at the cieling once again. The cieling at this place was almost magical to most people you looked up. It had hanging decorations on the top, and the stairs just added to the effect of the magical feeling. Is it just me, or does Kaida like thinking of Harry Potter? Kaida looked back to Haiiro "It's pretty cool, huh?" she asked him, as she had noticed he was also looking up at the cieling. This candy shop was Kaida's favourite, it looked great, smelled great, and the people were great. It wasn't too busy, and it had a wide variety of choices as well. They also always kept the place warm in the fall and winter and cool in the spring and fall. Even if she wasn't here for candy, she would like sitting in here during days on which she had nothing to do. Kaida didn't have any work today, so she was slightly bored. She wouldn't just sit in her house all day long, because it was boring and quiet there on days when her father didn't want her to be in the dojo and help him teach. Sure, she could always join in on the lesson and learn, but today was for beginners, and everything she did there she was in the intermediate level. That is why, on days like these, she took a tendency of just walking around. If anything happened to her, she would always be able to protect herself. She knew there were bad men out there, who took a fancy to her skirts. [/ul][/blockquote]

When she had stated that she was a junior rather than a senior, Haii found himself blinking a moment. However, he didn't comment on this but let the fact be as it were. "It's pretty cool, huh?" Hm? Haii slowly turned his head back downwards towards Kaida and stared at her rather confused for a moment before finally nodding.
"There is plenty of designs and things on it," he answered back noting the patterns again before slowly finding himself standing up. His eye moved to his watch, and he realized that he'd better start walking towards the observatory or risk being late for work. In truth, he'd prefer to be early rather than late.
"I have work now," he stated aloud before snagging the other jawbreakers he had bought and then looking towards Kaida. "Do you know where the observatory is?" he asked wondering if maybe she had been there or something and had actually seen where he worked.
That calm feeling of one came about again as he thought about the stars in the sky. He liked the celestial night rather than the day and was already planning to become a full night owl once high school had finished for him. The day held nothing really special, but the night, heh......
